“¡Puro Mazatlán chiquita!” Ya sea que el corrido comience o termine con este estribillo, dedico mi primera exposición fotográfica en mi tierra adoptiva a mi querido Mazatlán, lugar hermoso que abrió sus cálidos brazos y nos adoptó como suyos. Ciudad de magníficos atardeceres y bellos alrededores, bendecidos por artistas, fotógrafos, bailarines, escritores y músicos, una ciudad llena de calidez y cultura. Sólo caminar por la ciudad y voltear a mirar para cualquier dirección es reafirmar la letra del corrido “que lindo es todo lo que hay en Mazatlán”.

“That’s Mazatlán, my dear!” Whether the song begins or ends with this refrain, I wanted to dedicate my first solo exhibit in my beloved adopted home to this fair city. Here we are blessed with artists, photographers, dancers and musicians in addition to our gorgeous surroundings and terrific people. While not literally true, even after all these years on a daily basis I am reminded of the words of the song, “how gorgeous is everything in Mazatlán.”
